Accurately defining a problem is a crucial first step in the improvement process. We have several proven tools that provide objective information and insight on what may be limiting the performance of an individual, team or organization. Remember: The Eye Can Not See Itself!
Myers-Briggs Personality Types Indicator
Kay is a certified MBTI instructor and uses this valuable tool to help leaders relate more effectively to their staff and co-workers. This process can be done in-person or by phone and internet.
One-on-One Conversations
With the right background information I can evaluate a person's level of commitment to her job and to the team. As a RN in an ICU I learned to get information from people under difficult circumstances. I've applied these same skills to communicating with supervisors and leaders. These one-on-one sessions are valuable prior to working with a department whether it be in a training role or as a coach.
As you know a small percentage of what people communicate is through the words they use. Most information is passed through tone of voice and body language. I am highly intuitive and am able to see through the excuses and get to the root cause of the issue.
Employee Surveys
We have developed a 20 question survey that is easy to administer and gives a lot of information in a timely manner.
Information is obtained in four key areas of team performance:
Can they do the job?
Do they want to do the job?
Do they have what they need?
Are they organized to do it?
Using statisitical analysis we're able to identify areas where the employees are satisfied and areas that need attention.
This is a great, low cost tool to get managers out of denial. How often have you heard from one of your managers that "everything is fine with my staff", when you see higher than normal absenteeism and turnover, untapped potential and an underperforming team. This will provide you with facts that the manager can't dispute.
